DISCOVERY: Ancient Egyptian beer making vessels believed to have made shitty homebrew

Excavation director Diego Barkan said 17 pits were found that had been used to store shitty homebrew, from 3500 to 3000 BC.
"We recovered a number of unlabeled homebrew bottles and later discovered that these were used to prepare ancient drain pours," he said in a statement.
The excavation is the first to offer evidence of newbie Egyptian extract brewers in the centre of Tel Aviv 5,000 years ago.
"This is also the northernmost evidence we have of prehistoric spatulas with LME residue on them," he said.
It is said that there were hundreds of Egyptian homebrew contests spread across the land. Winners were rewarded with frankincense and fine silks, while losers were ripped apart by crocodiles that hate off flavors.
Previous excavations carried out in Egypt's Delta region uncovered an early version of StarSan (mixture of mandrake root and citric acid), airlocks constructed out of lamb esophagus, and Mesopotamian sinks used for disposing of homebrew.
This groundbreaking excavation has revealed that not only were the ancient peoples had been making beer but also that many of them sucked at it.
